10 DAY PACKAGE TOUR

This 10 day package is for those wanting an all inclusive, 100% guided Kayaking experience.  As much kayaking and wilderness adventure is packed into 10 days for paddlers with limited time available.

  • Day one:
Upon your arrival at Livingstone Airport you will be met by a ‘Kayak theZambezi.com’ representative and transferred to your accommodation at Fawlty Towers. After checking in and a relaxing afternoon by the pool, you will be picked up and taken on a sunset cruise on the upper Zambezi River. Hippo, crocodile, elephant and other species can be seen in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, which flanks the river in this area. All drinks are included, and a barbecue dinner is provided on the cruise.
  • Day two:
After breakfast at Fawlty Towers we will take a short drive to the Boiling Pot for your first taste of The Zambezi. Today's run will be from rapid #1 through rapid #23.  Our guide will lead you down the river giving a detailed description of the rapids and scouting where necessary.
  • Day three:
Over breakfast today, our guide will discuss which section of the river will be run. We will concentrate more on a specific section of the river and the great playspots the Zambezi has on offer. A snack lunch is carried in the kayaks.
  • Day four:
After breakfast we will again run a specific section of the river, which will likely differ from the section that was run yesterday. A snack lunch is carried in the kayaks.
  • Day five:
Today will be a non-paddling day. You can participate in any of the regions’ activities in the morning, which include bungi-jumping, flights over the falls, game drives, rhino walks, or the Zambezi gorge swing. You could opt to check out some local sights or merely relax by the pool.
  • Day six:
Today marks the start of our multi-day trip. After breakfast we will make our way to the boiling pot, directly beneath the Victoria Falls. Few people have the chance to venture into this region due to the inaccessibility. This involves a short portage to the top of rapid #1 and then a paddle across a large eddy to witness a sight you will never forget. We will have a light lunch on the river before making camp between rapid #10 and #11. Our guides will prepare a delicious, evening meal.
  • Day seven:
After breakfast we will spend the day slowly making our way downstream, stopping to play to our hearts content. A light lunch will be served on the river before making our way to the beach below rapid #25. Sundowners and dinner will be served on the beach.
  • Day eight:
Breakfast on the beach will be followed by our longest river day. We will cover approximately 24km today, running a variety of large and small rapids, such as Closed Season, Open Season, The Narrows and Lets Make a Deal. Lunch will be served on the riverbank along the way. Upper and Lower Moemba are the last two rapids of the day and are two of the best on the entire river! Tonight, we dine and camp on the rim of the gorge, overlooking the river.
  • Day nine:
After a light breakfast we begin the drive back to Livingstone through traditional villages, arriving at Fawlty Towers by late morning. The afternoon can be spent as you choose prior to a farewell dinner at one of Livingstone’s restaurants.
  • Day ten:
This morning you will check out of Fawlty Towers and will be transferred to the Livingstone Airport for your flight out of Zambia. Alternatively, you may wish to stay longer and continue paddling, or explore the region further on a safari or similar adventure. If you do choose to stay on and further your paddling, we can continue organising your daily logistics.
